Presentation Reflection

1) My first interview helped with my 5 minute presentation with content.  When i interviewed my piano teacher, she told me that knowing the 3 main ages of music which are baroque, classical, and romantic, will help me go far in this project. That's why i decided to focus my 5minute presentation on those three time periods because they represented how modern piano music was formed.

2) I think that the information i gave about pianists, artist, and musical eras stood out the most because i connected old styles of music with modern styles.

3) The most challenging thing that i had to do was my visual.  I didn't plan ahead about how to make sure my visual would be seen by the whole class.

Senior Project Presentation 1

Objective:  Students will learn how piano music has survived through the past 300 years and how relevant it is to modern day music.
Procedure: 1)Start with the question by calling out two random people: "________, do you like to listen to music?" then follow up with the question:"If so, how many modern day songs have you heard with the piano in it?"
2) Start by giving brief descriptions about Classical, Romantic, and Baroque era music styles.
3) Explain the details about certain techniques from the previous 3 styles that have lasted through time to make it to 21st century music.
4)Give 3 examples of successful artists that include piano in their music and give 2 examples of modern day pianists.
Check for Understanding:  To make sure that my audience members understand what i was talking about, i will ask the class 2 questions about facts that i have presented throughout the presentation.
Resources/Materials: I plan to bring 5 visuals, one of a classical pianist, one of a Romantic pianist, one of a Baroque pianist, and two of modern day pianists.

interview check

1) I am interviewing my piano teacher Sally Griffin.  I have decided to interview her because she has been the main reason why i have excelled so far with my piano skills.  She also has around 40 years of experience with piano, studied many genres of music, and has many connections to help me with my project.

2)Additional questions:
A)What style of music do you enjoy playing/studying?
B)At what age is it best to start learning piano?
C)What types of activities would you give students to do?
